The Irish Edu-Fair Nigeria (IREN) is a response to the strong demand for the Irish education system by prospective Nigerian students.
STAKEHOLDERS:
- The Irish HEIs:
There is no doubt that the Irish Higher Education Institutions are amongst the best in the western world. IREN is aimed at partnering with some of these institutions to showcase the high standard and quality of Irish education system during the exhibition in Nigeria. The organizers are presently consulting with majority of the HEIs to ascertain how many will be represented in the inaugural edition of IREN.
- The Irish Ministry of Education:
The organizers are hoping that the representatives of the Irish ministry of education will be on the roll call to grace the occasion.
- The Irish Embassy in Nigeria:
The officials of the Irish embassy in Nigeria will also be invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibition, not only to show support but also to welcome the representatives of the participating HEIs. The Irish embassy may decide to play more than a moral support in which case it could for example, sponsor a help and information desk during the exhibition to answer questions in relation to study visas, etc.
- The Nigerian Government Agencies:
The Nigeria’s ministries of education and foreign affairs will also be invited to participate in the event.
Similarly, invitations will be extended to state scholarship agencies like the Petroleum Trust Fund and the Ministry of Niger Delta to partner with the participating HEIs. Respective state education boards (there are 36 states in Nigeria) and the ministry of the Federal Capital Territory will be on the list of official stakeholders.
- The Nigerian Audience:
The prospective students and their parents/sponsors will form the largest target audience for the exhibition. Given the enormous penchant for foreign education providers, there is a high probability that IREN will be well attended.
Similarly, a selection of private schools and corporate education sponsors are invited to attend as a group.
